After a fantastic start to or league campaign, we get ready for a trip to the kingdom to take on Jack O’Conner’s Kerry footballers.

Now the one thing I’ve noticed so far to lead up people writing us off before we even get on the team bus and make the journey down, people saying we’re getting to big a head on us thinking we’re winning the All Ireland only two games in.

A trip down to Austin Stack is never easy for any team but we’re are more then capable of pulling off a winning performance.

In our meeting with Dublin there was plenty of times we were hot and cold on the pitch and times many Mayo fans thought the boys and blue would have their day in Castlebar.

In true Mayo fashion we got the job done and I cannot see why we can’t do the same in Tralee.

Many say us Mayo fans are getting ahead of ourselves after two wins in but what’s wrong with being happy because of a good start ?

David Clifford as always is our target man to keep a stray but my fear going into this game is starting off strong and taking our foot off the gas, I couldn’t have been the only Mayo fan thinking we were going to come up short against Dublin.

This Kerry team are on a mission on vengeance since their All Ireland lost last season and like many I want Mayo fans leaving Tralee with our heads held high rather then with frowns.

What I don’t want is that we fall down the same path as last year’s league and come out victorious against the top teams in Ireland and fall victim to lower level teams,

It will be another chapter of our rivalry together but I just hope we begin and finish the game with the same strong mentality.

I feel Kerry are always dark horses and I’m going into this game unsure but as we know anything can happen in Mayo football.
